Morgan State will send nine athletes to the 2012 NCAA East Regional Track & FIeld Championships on May 24-26.

BALTIMORE, Md. (May 17, 2012)-The NCAA this afternoon announced its preliminary round declared athletes lists for the men's and women's East Regional outdoor track and field championship, held May 24-26 in Jacksonville, Fla. on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Morgan State will have a combined nine athletes (six women, three men) who will compete during the preliminary round.
Heading the list for the Lady Bears were
Britney Wattley and
Teyanna Green, who will compete in a total of three events at Hodges Stadium. Wattley and Green will both compete in the 100 meter dash as well as the 200 meter dash. The two will then join teammates
Charisma Green and
Ekundayo Sogbesan on the 4X100 meter relay team, which has won its last five meets. Sogbesan will also run in the 400 meter dash.
The Lady Bears' field team will be led by
Ranita Mealer, who will take part in both the shot put and javelin, while
Monae Waller will take part in the high jump.
The men's team will be led by
Calvin Dascent, who will run in both the 200 and 400 meter dashes, while
Trey Charles will run in the 400 meter hurdles.
Emmanuel Stewart will compete in the javelin and discus.
