New Comer Williamson Outduels Stoby in Ceres 10K Classic

40 runners take off in Saturday's challenging Ceres Juices 10K Series race in Carrot Bay

SEPTEMBER 17—Guy Williamson accelerated from Ruben Stoby in the late stages of Saturday’s Ceres Juices 10K Series race in Carrot Bay, to win the challenging course from Carrot Bay to Smugglers cove and return, in 45 minutes and 22 seconds, in the race that attracted 41 participants.

Williamson, Storby, James Carr and Ravi Sukhu, became the breakaway four early in the race and felt each other out before Stoby and Williamson broke away on the return.

“It was bloody humid, I’ve just arrived on the island, so I’m just trying to get adjusted to the heat and humidity,” Williamson explained. “It’s really difficult, but I really enjoyed that race—a beautiful scenic route a few hills to try and slow you down but otherwise it was a really nice morning.”
