JANUARY 8—The BVI Athletics Association 2013 season opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds with the Gatorade Development Series, which runs through March 1.

JANUARY 13—Eldred Henry wasted no time in getting the Gatorade/Hastings Grant Memorial Development Series off to a flying start during Saturday’s BVI Athletics Association 2013 season opener, that also saw Nelda Huggins and Lakeisha “Mimi” Warner joining him by hitting Carifta Games qualifying marks.
