OCTOBER 14—Leading local long distance runner Katrina Crumpler placed 10th in the women’s division of the NACAC Petit Bourg 10km road race in Guadeloupe on Saturday.
OCTOBER 13— Repeating their success from the Beef Island 10k earlier in the road racing season, Julius Farley and tender teenager Tallulah Kinkead led a fast field in Saturday’s Ceres Juices 10K Series tour stop at Trellis Bay, Beef Island. Dubbed the “Steel Man Warm up” the course comprised three laps of the Eastern tip of Beef Island over rolling terrain.

AUGUST 26--With a little help from her new found friends from around the world—several of who didn’t speak her language—the BVI’s Lakeisha “Mimi” Warner won a Youth Olympic Games Mixed 8 x100m Relay gold medal on Tuesday, at the close of the track and field segment of the Games in Nanjing, China.
KAMLOOPS, B.C. Canada—Eldred Henry closed his inaugural season as a Sr. athlete with a fourth place finish in the NACAC U23 Championships Discus Throw, followed by a fifth place finish in the Shot Put at Hillside Stadium on the Thompson River University campus in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
AUGUST 1—Chantel Malone had the best place finish by a BVI athlete in its history of Commonwealth Games competition when she finished fourth in the Long Jump on Thursday night as the territory’s athletes wrapped up competition in Glasgow, Scotland, in the XX editing of the event.
JULY 26—Nelda Huggins became the second British Virgin Islands female athlete to advance to the semifinal of an IAAF World Jr. Championships sprint event in the territory’s history, when she reached Thursday’s 200m semifinal.
JULY 21—James Farley and Tallulah Kinkead were the respective winners in Saturday’s Ceres Juices 10K Series tour stop on Beef Island, which turned out to be an extra mile adventure for participants as the original course was scrapped because of on going works in East End and two laps were run on Beef Island.

JULY 8—For some it was a tune up for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland later this month. For others, it was the end of competition for the 2014 season.
JULY 4—As the 2014 track and field season begins winging down, the BVI will kick off the regional and international phase of competition with the OECS Championships in St. Kitts July 5-6.

MAY 30—Three of six U.S. Virgin Islands athletes will compete in the Virgin Islands for the first time as professional athletes in the 2nd BVI Twilight Invitational on Tortola on June 7.
MAY 25, NASSAU, The Bahamas—The British Virgin Islands Women’s 4x100m Relay team ran the second fastest time in the territory’s history to reach the B final of the inaugural IAAF World Relays here in Nassau, The Bahamas and finished in the top 16.
MAY 21—Five BVI athletes will be among 800 from 42 countries competing in the inaugural IAAF World Relays in Nassau, Bahamas, May 24-25. The BVI is fielding a Women's 4 x 100m Relay team in the competition.
MAY 19—British Virgin Islands native and Central Arizona College freshman Eldred Henry, won the National Jr. College Athletics Association Championships Discus Throw title on Saturday night, during the championships held at Mesa College, in Mesa, Arizona.
MAY 19—St. John’s Timothy “TJ” Hindes did his research, relied in his 8 Tuff Miles racing and course training, then executed his strategy to perfection en route to burying the field and winning Saturday’s 3rd Virgin Gorda Half Marathon.

MAY 14—Before he would seek to help Vincy return to the Digicel Twenty 20 Cricket Tournament final with a victory over unbeaten Vikings and play in another game of Football on Sunday, Maxford Pipe has some unfinished business to do.
MAY 12— Unlike last month’s Carifta Games, this time, Kyron McMaster doesn’t have to worry about hurdle height, after he secured a ticket to the July 22-27, IAAF World Jr. Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
MAY 11—Although Guy Williamson won the overall men’s division of the 2014 Blenheim Trust 5K Series, Maxford Pipe ended his streak of victories with a furious finish during Saturday’s finale, by .01 seconds.
MAY 6—As officials gear up for the 3rd Virgin Gorda Half Marathon and 6 Miles Challenge by rolling out a tougher segment of the course, making it the most challenging race in the British Virgin Islands, they could not have asked for a better tune up than Saturday’s Dive BVI 10K Series race.
MAY 5—Although bad weather delayed the Day II start in the LIME National Youth Championships on Saturday morning, resulting in the merging of a session, it did not deter the athlete’s competitive spirit that began on Friday night.
