Keron Stoute Repeats as MEAC Heptathlon Champion Dean Greenaway Feb 19, 2014

FEBRUARY 19—Bethune-Cookman Sr. Keron Stoute, successfully defended his MEAC Indoor Championships Heptathlon title in leading a 1-2-3 sweep of the event, as the Wildcats had their highest finish in program history with 109 points—five short of being crowned conference champions.

JANUARY 27—A day’s delay because of inclement weather and a rains during the early part of competition on Saturday morning, affected the overall number of participants but did not diminish the competitive juices in the BVI Athletics Association 4th Development Series Meet, that saw two St. Croix participants joining athletes from St. Thomas, Tortola and Virgin Gorda in action.

JANUARY 12—Fresh off establishing a 400m National Scholastic Record last year and being the only male athlete qualifying for the 8th IAAF World Youth Championships, Kyron McMaster made his 400m Intermediate Hurdles debut and established a National Youth Record, as the 2014 BVI Athletics Association Development Series kicked off on Friday evening.

NOVEMBER 26—For the last seven years, men have been grabbing all the headlines in the Ogier-Deloite BVI Sunrise Half Marathon. The eight staging of the event is set for Saturday, Nov 30, starting at 6:00 a.m. at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds and traversing Tortola’s south coast roads.

NOVEMBER 19—While he didn’t meet his goal of challenging the 16 year old course record nor getting under the 11 minutes barrier, Khiry Creque joined Linden Peters and Steven Asson as the only 3-peat champions in the 18-year history of the Highland Spring College Classic Series, when he pulled off the feat on Saturday, as the curtains came down on the 2013 edition.
