MAY 21—James Carr was engaged in a spirited battled with Jacques Roux after they broke from the field, before he went on to demolish Maxford Pipe’s course record established during last year’s inaugural event, to win the 2nd Dive BVI Virgin Gorda Half Marathon on Saturday.
MAY 19—Khari “KJ” Herbert won the 400m at Saturday’s 37th Golden South Classic in Orlando, Florida, while Kyron McMaster was fourth with a time that improved his National Scholastic Record in the event, leading four athletes to career best performances.
MAY 14—It really isn’t over till its over. Midway through Saturday’s Blenheim Trust 5K Series in Paraquita Bay, on the famed course known as “The Beast”—an uphill climb less than 800m to go—series leader James Carr had resigned himself to thinking there’s no way he could win.

MAY 5—Bethune-Cookman Wildcats Jr. Keron Stoute, set himself up nicely for the territory’s inaugural Collegiate Performer of the Year Award to be doled out later this year, after securing second place finished in the MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Decathlon and Open High Jumps, during the competition held at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, North Carolina.

NASSAU, The Bahamas, April 2—Judine Lacey passed the Bahamas’ U17 Girls 4x400m Relay anchor leg in the last 50m, to give the BVI its fourth silver and record eight overall medal, to close out the 42nd Carifta Games in Nassau, Bahamas on Monday night, solidifying the territory’s historic ties to the archipelago in the championships.

MARCH 20—The 2013 Dive BVI 5K Series wrapped up on Saturday in The Valley, Virgin Gorda with Emrol Amsterdam and Kathleen Brownsdon taking this year’s men’s and women’s titles, respectively.
MARCH 18—An injury that led to unlooked for performances in the 400m, Shot Put and High Jump events, caused Bethune-Cookman Jr. Keron Stoute to fall short of Paul “On The Ball” Hewlette’s National Decathlon Record on Saturday, when he won the Miami Hurricanes Invitational with 6069 points. Hewlette’s record is 6609.
